Welcome

Welcome to Ballinderry Primary School and Nursery Unit

Our school motto is Learning, Caring, Achieving.

This says in a few words what we are about here at Ballinderry.

Our Vision: At Ballinderry Primary School, we aspire to empower every child to become a curious, responsible and resilient lifelong learner who feels valued, respected and prepared for life.

Mission:

Living out our vision each day, we will:

  • provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment in which every child is known, valued and supported;
  • deliver high-quality teaching and meaningful learning experiences that build secure knowledge, essential skills and a love of learning;
  • teach children to understand how they learn, reflect on their progress, learn from mistakes and become
  • increasingly independent; promote wellbeing, resilience, positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging;
  • listen to pupil voice and provide opportunities for children to make choices, contribute and take responsibility;
  • celebrate effort, progress, individual strengths and achievement in all its forms; and
  • work closely with families and the wider community to prepare children for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Through these everyday actions, we will help every child grow academically, socially and emotionally and leave
Ballinderry with confidence, character and purpose.

We believe that every child matters. We believe that children learn best in a caring, encouraging and stimulating environment.

Through high quality teaching and learning experiences, we give our pupils the opportunity to achieve and to fulfil their potential, developing a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

In our rich extracurricular programme, children learn more about themselves and the world around them, flourishing through opportunities in Sport, Music, Drama, Global and Environmental activities.

Wrap-Around Care is provided, including Breakfast Club and after-school care.

The Education and Training Inspectorate recognised our achievements as a school in its most recent inspections:

"The quality of education provided by this school is outstanding;

the quality of pastoral care is also outstanding.

The school has demonstrated its capacity for sustained self-improvement."
